Healthy employees suffer fewer health issues, record fewer sick days, are more productive and engage better with colleagues and customers. Having a workplace health and wellbeing program encourages employees to improve their health and can help your business to become an employer of choice.
Integrating workplace wellness in our work health and safety management system and leadership commitment at all levels has been integral to the success of Be Healthy, Be Wealthy as we strive towards a healthier, happier, more productive and resilient workforce.
Our wellness program supports our employees and their families to be happier and healthy. The recognition of our program reinforces our commitment to employee health and wellbeing and encourages us to continually develop our program to meet best-practice standards.
As an organisation representing more than 200,000 Queenslanders with all types of diabetes, it is important to practice what we preach. To develop our program we capitalised on our wealth of internal expertise, free services and resources available through the Healthier. Happier. Workplaces initiative and coupled this with the passion and enthusiasm of our staff. We are proud of our Silver recognition and even prouder of our ability to lead from the front in terms of creating healthy workplaces.
“As an organisation that excels in delivering innovative, outcome-focused workplace health and wellbeing programs for our clients, it was only logical that we would provide this same level of care to our own employees.”
The Healthier. Happier. Workplaces initiative has assisted Ergon Energy to ‘Health Matters’ online health information portal for staff.develop the focus and ongoing strategy which will see new initiatives offered this year such as the 10,000 steps program. Achieving \'Silver\' recognises Ergon\'s ongoing commitment to employee health and wellbeing through established initiatives, programs and resources that aim to assist workers to self-manage their own health.
